CLASSES

Would you like to find more energy, more flexibility and have some time in the day for yourself?

Yoga is fun and endlessly adaptable.
Yoga can bring greater confidence in our abilities; it reduces stress in the body, improves our circulation, and helps us sleep better.
Yoga helps us maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Central to my type of yoga is an acceptance of where we are now: by being patient and non-judgmental, we can find ease and a sense of freedom of movement.

Classes are small and all levels of experience are welcome

My classes explore the yoga asanas, or positions, to find ease in the pose and freedom of movement. The asanas help us to discover a connection between the brain and the body and at the same time strengthen us.

Each class includes a gentle warm up, exploration of the yoga poses and time for quiet breathing and relaxation.

Yoga online with Carolyn

Wednesday evenings: 7 – 8 pm
Thursday mornings: 7.50 – 8.50 am

£15 for the week. Come to either or both

Please message me for payment details and to sign up for my newsletter. Please also message me if payment is difficult for you at the moment. I strongly believe no-one should be excluded from practising yoga for whatever reason.

Classes are suitable and adaptable for all, whether you are a beginner or have practised yoga before. The focus is on breathing and movement to ground, lengthen and nourish. Breathing and movement help to calm our anxieties, lift our spirits and generally make us feel better.

My yoga and teaching is based on the teachings and writing of Vanda Scaravelli where listening to the breath and sensing the ground allows freedom of movement in the spine.

Private classes on Zoom, and now also back in the studio
A one on one session can be useful, either if you are new to me or if you want a specially tailored programme. Private sessions are £50 (£135 for a block of three) and can be shared between two people. Please contact me.

My studio in Spitalfields is light and bright and airy.

‘Carolyn’s studio provides an oasis of tranquility; I love the different natural textures. It is easy to focus on breathing and understanding my body better in such a special setting. Carolyn’s calm and clear instructions enable me to progress and to work towards new goals.’

Online Yoga: there are some surprising benefits that have come out of online yoga: not having to travel to class,   being able to use your own mats and props, and becoming used to doing yoga in your own space can help to establish a personal practice. However, I will not be able to see you so well on a screen and individual adjustments are not always possible, so please always practise with mindful attention and back away from anything that does not feel right for you.

If you have not done yoga with me before please contact me in advance, particularly if you are new to yoga.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
